Jesus teaches us to come before God with humble hearts, boldly offering our thanksgivings and concerns to God or simply listening for God’s voice in our lives and in the world. Whether in thought, word or deed, individually or corporately, when we pray we invite and dwell in God’s loving presence.
“We believe every person alive today has the capacity to become a healer and a conduit of the Holy.”
~Francis Geddes
GABRIEL’S HEALING MINISTRY AND PRAYER CHAIN
St. Gabriel has a Healing Team which is a quiet but foundational ministry with deep roots at St. Gabriel. Members are lay people who consider it an honor to pray for those who request it and respect the confidential nature of prayers requests. The prayer chain is personal and confidential and therefore private, available for congregants and their friends and family if they are referred to our office by the church member. If you have a prayer chain request, call our office at 503-645-0744.
PRAYERS FOR A PET: GABRIEL’S FRIENDS
St. Gabriel’s animal ministry, Gabriel’s Friends, was formed to celebrate and acknowledge the importance of the animals who share our lives. We are here to offer prayers and support if an animal friend faces health challenges, or for those facing the loss of an animal companion. To request prayers for a pet, please contact the ministry through our church office by calling 503-645-0744 or by emailing office@stgabrielpdx.org.
WALK OUR LABYRINTH
St. Gabriel has a public outdoor labyrinth “Mary’s Rest” that can walked at any time for prayer, healing, and contemplation. The labyrinth can be accessed by coming around the pathway on the right side of the church which leads to a semi-enclosed cement patio. An eleven-circuit labyrinth is there, painted by artist D.C. Donohue.
